Schwalbe G-One RX#

Schwalbe’s flagship gravel race tire installed on the Canyon Grizl CF 8 Di2. The G-One RX is built for mixed-surface riding at speed — a file tread centre keeps rolling resistance low on hard pack and road, while pronounced shoulder knobs engage on loose gravel, dirt, and wet surfaces.

Compound & Protection#
ADDIX Race is Schwalbe’s fastest-rolling compound — optimised for low rolling resistance on hard surfaces with sufficient grip for mixed terrain. It is a step below ADDIX Speed (pure road) and above ADDIX Soft (maximum grip).
V-Guard is Schwalbe’s mid-level puncture protection layer — a 3 mm wide belt under the tread. It protects against sharp objects penetrating the casing without adding significant weight, appropriate for gravel riding where debris is common but the tire is not under the same abuse as an enduro casing.
Tread Design#
The G-One RX uses a ramped file tread in the centre — closely spaced, low-profile knobs that roll fast when the tire is upright. Shoulder knobs are larger and more widely spaced, providing cornering grip when the tire leans. The transition from centre to shoulder is gradual, giving predictable grip progression through corners.
Tubeless Setup#
The TLR bead seats reliably on a standard 28–33 mm internal width rim. Schwalbe recommends 3–4 oz of sealant. Recommended pressures for 45c tubeless:
| Rider weight | Front | Rear |
|---|---|---|
| ~70 kg | 28–32 PSI | 30–35 PSI |
| ~80 kg | 30–35 PSI | 33–38 PSI |
Running tubeless allows pressure well below the 55 PSI maximum, improving compliance and grip on rough surfaces.
