Released January 2006. The original Lumix TZ (Travel Zoom) — Panasonic’s breakthrough travel compact featuring a 10× optical zoom covering 35–350mm equivalent while remaining pocketable. The Leica-branded DC Vario-Elmar lens was a selling point in the compact market. 5.1 MP 1/2.5" CCD.

Leica Branding#
The Leica DC Vario-Elmar designation indicates the lens was designed in collaboration with Leica and meets Leica’s optical quality standards for contrast and distortion control. Panasonic and Leica shared an optical partnership from 2001.
