Fuji MCEX-16 Macro Extension Tube#
A 16mm extension tube for the Fuji X-mount system. Contains no optical elements — it physically moves the lens further from the sensor, reducing minimum focus distance and increasing maximum magnification. Maintains full electronic communication between lens and body (AF, EXIF, aperture control). Works with both X-Pro3 and X-E1.
Compatibility#
| Body | Notes |
|---|
| X-Pro3 | Full AF and electronic communication |
| X-E1 | Full AF and electronic communication |
| Lens | Notes |
|---|
| XF 23mm f/2 | Best magnification gain (~+0.70×) — shortest focal length in the kit |
| XF 35mm f/1.4 | Good pairing — usable magnification at close range (~+0.46×) |
| XF 56mm f/1.2 | Longer working distance — good for insects or shy subjects (~+0.29×) |
| XF 55-200mm | Works — magnification gain modest; working distance long |
| XF 500mm | Minimal gain; not a practical pairing |

Magnification Gain by Lens#
Extension tubes increase magnification by approximately extension ÷ focal length. With 16mm of extension:
| Lens | Focal Length | Approx. Magnification Gain |
|---|
| XF 23mm f/2 | 23mm | +0.70× |
| XF 35mm f/1.4 | 35mm | +0.46× |
| XF 56mm f/1.2 | 56mm | +0.29× |
| XF 55-200mm | 55–200mm | +0.08–0.29× |
Final magnification also depends on the lens’s native close-focus capability.
